Trevor Keeling, General Manager
At the beginning of 2012 Trevor began his second stint as General Manager of Dancenorth. Born in Zimbabwe, Trevor came to Australia in 1991. A former journalist and actor, Trevor has been involved in the arts all his life – in his early life as a performer, director or writer – and latterly as an arts administrator. With a strong background in print media and marketing, for six years he was the Festival Director for the Glenelg Jazz Festival in Adelaide, during which time he was a director of an event management company, EventsOz. He joined Dancenorth in 2005 as the General Manager and from 2009 to 2011 was the CEO of Mirndiyan Gununa Aboriginal Corporation on Mornington Island.
Karin Palmer, Operations Manager/Administrator
This is also Karin’s second stint in her role as Operations Manager/Administrator. She joined the company back in 2001 and during the next nine years saw enormous changes in the organisation. After an 18-month sojourn in real estate and “other things” she was delighted to be lured back in early 2012. In 2010, Karin and her husband Errol were appointed life members of the company for their extraordinary contributions to Dancenorth.
Wayne Tomas, Production Manager
Wayne first saw Dancenorth perform at the Brisbane Festival in 2012, fell in love with the company and was appointed as Production Manager in January 2013. In a career spanning almost 20 years, Wayne has covered almost every facet of Technical Theatre production and Event Management. With a focus firmly on theatre, he has coordinated everything from large National and International tours to small one off intimate shows for twenty people.
Yoshi Kenny, Venue and Production Co-ordinator
Yoshi joined Dancenorth in March 2014 but this is not the first time he has been dressed in black! Yoshi has been a technician in theatre for many years. He worked as tour and stage manager for Tropic Sun Theatre in Townsville in 2001 which was the first time he worked in the School of Arts Theatre. Hailing from Mackay he has worked as a lighting technician both privately and also for the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.
Marketing – Crystal Clear PR & Marketing
Heidi completed her graduate and post graduate studies in London, and has gained more than 12 years experience working for a variety of government and private sector organisations in marketing and communications positions in the UK, Europe and Australia. These have included executing national (UK & Australia) and Europe-wide promotional campaigns and speaking at International Conferences across Europe.
After moving to Townsville in 2008 Heidi began Crystal Clear PR and Marketing and has developed a loyal base of local and national clients and a hard working team of marketing and design professionals. Heidi is passionate about the arts in Townsville and counts a number of local professional arts organisations as clients. Heidi is one of the first people to graduate from the Townsville Enterprise Emerging Leaders’ program and actively facilitates collaborations between organisations.
Suzanne completed a Bachelor of Journalism at James Cook University in 1997 and has gained extensive experience in government and media industries since. She has worked as a journalist, marketing coordinator and regional media officer and has spent the past 11 years Suzanne has progressed through the ranks at the Townsville Bulletin where she has worked as sub-editor, layout coordinator and features editor.
In 2013 Suzanne decided it was time for a change and is now enjoying the diversity of her role as Marketing Coordinator at Crystal Clear PR & Marketing.
Suzanne was born in Germany but grew up in Townsville and spends most of her time outside of work with her active young family enjoying all of that living in the north has to offer.
