Dancenorth is one of Australia's leading contemporary dance-theatre companies who experiment with all art forms to create immersive and dynamic dance experiences for audiences locally, nationally and internationally.
Located in Townsville amidst the picturesque tropical north of Australia, Dancenorth is testament that international quality dance can be produced in a regional setting by balancing a strong presence with a commitment to making art that tours the globe.
In 2009, Dancenorth will create one new production Nowhere Fast, tour three works in two national tours and perform as part of the acclaimed biennial Queensland Music Festival.
From January 2010, Dancenorth welcomes the new Artistic Directorship of Raewyn Hill. With her leadership, the company will present programs that are both emotionally and intellectually engaging whilst continuing the physicality and athleticism in movement style that Dancenorth is renowned and celebrated for.
