Audience feedback via email:
‘I'm happy I got to meet the choreographer after last night's show, and I commended him on what I think is a really well-made piece of theatre. I've actually felt for a while now that the future of theatre actually rests in dance. The emotions and meanings that the dancers conveyed, not only through their bodies and voices but also their facial expressions too, were unnervingly believable and transmitted an energy I would imagine many audience members don't often experience these days, which is unfortunate. The whole hour or more was gripping and in no way passive for the spectator.
The glimpses of the choreographic influences throughout the play were subtle and allusions to Art at times overt. Tarantino and Frances Bacon would have been impressed.’
‘The group I was with discussed it all the way home and I am continuing to dissect it now. ‘
‘My friend Danielle and I went to see the Dance North production last night of ‘Nowhere Fast’, and we both wanted to write in and say how fantastic it was. We both loved the strongly intense, powerful, dark and emotive performances and ideas that were portrayed by the dancers and choreographer. The skills that were shown in the dancing were amazing, and the storyline and characters that were created left us reflecting about who they were, we didn’t want the man to get sucked into the life that the other characters had.’
‘We were on holiday in Townsville the Friday before last and were fortunate enough to see Nowhere Fast. To say we were blown away by the whole performance is an understatement. Congratulations to all involved on presenting such an outstanding, high quality show.’
'Nowhere Fast' is available to tour from 1 March 2009.
