Remember Me

\\ View media gallery

A new collaboration between Dancenorth and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music reunites Dancenorth’s Artistic Director with renowned composer Iain Grandage following their dance-theatre work lawn.

This new production merges different mediums – film, live music, theatre and dance – to create a work of great tenderness and nostalgia which documents a lifestyle of weekly dance that has largely disappeared from modern Australian life.

Remember Me is a meeting place for two different generations of Australians and an insight into the differences and similarities of people. Dance and the body become metaphors for larger concerns about age, life and death, as they both inhabit the same space, one like a memory or premonition of the other.

Remember Me: 8, 10, 11, 12 July 2008 at 8pm; 13 July 2008 at 6pm at the Dancenorth Theatre, Cnr Stanley and Walker Streets, Townsville.
