A vast canopy of stars spills from the stage into the theatre, blanketing the entire audience in a single celestial expanse.
Within this mesmerising constellation of light and sound, bodies drift through an ever-shifting landscape where nothing remains fixed and everything is endlessly becoming – transforming, dissolving.
Both intimate and infinite, Galaxia invites us to surrender certainty and linger in the unknown, to glimpse - if only for a fleeting moment - our place within a cosmos that refuses to hold still.
Directed by Amber Haines and Kyle Page, the multi-award-winning Dancenorth Ensemble delivers a sublime choreographic encounter within a multidimensional expanse of stars.
Inspired by the work of Báyò Akómoláfé, Galaxia features stars designed by New York theatrical pioneer Andrew Schneider, a score by Cameron Deyell, costumes by Harriet Oxley, lighting design by Bosco Shaw and sound design by Luke Smiles.
