Madaleine Armstrong

Madaleine Armstrong is an independent contemporary dancer and performance artist. Madeleine is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (BFA Dance) and before that trained at The Australian Ballet School. Madaleine is a co-founder alongside Damian Meredith of the dance/arts collective 'Movement Decor'. As a solo artist, Madeleine has performed independently for 9 years across the East Coast of Australia under the name Mad Mover as well as teaching Mad Movement workshops. Solo acts have been performed at festivals such as; Strawberry Fields Festival, Inner Varnika, Celebrate Life Festival, Elements Festival, Orin Aya, Earth Frequency Festival, Glow Festival and Bohemian Beatfreaks. 

As a dancer with Creative Creatures, Madaleine has performed at; Splendour in the Grass, Orin Aya and Elements as well as other events. Movement Décor has featured works in Melbourne Fringe Festival, Strawberry Fields Festival and Tanglewood as well as multiple collaborations. Madaleine has created and facilitated a workshop ‘Movement Medicine’ and intends to extend knowledge and work further in movement as therapy and sharing dance with a wide range of communities. Madaleine moved to Gurambillbarra (Townsville) to join Dancenorth in their Community Experience Team as a Teaching Artist.
