Joshua Cutler

Joshua has always had a great love and appreciation of the art form of dance. A Gurambilbarra (Townsville) local, he has been dancing with Dancenorth for 10 years, attending Every Body Dance workshops from the very beginning. 

From 2020-2024, Joshua was part of Dancenorth’s International Day for People with Disability celebrations, and was very proud to be invited to emcee the event in 2024. In 2024, he also collaborated with Dancenorth to create a short dance film that featured as part of Deeper than Dancing. The film explores Joshua’s experience of living with disability and his love of dancing. From November 2025 – May 2026, the film is featuring in Perc Tucker Regional Gallery as part of a rolling exhibition titled In the Heart of the North. 

Joshua believes that through his dancing, he shares not only his own story, but the stories of others living with disability, too.

Joshua now co-facilitates Every Body Dance as a Teaching Artist, and says becoming a teacher has been a very enjoyable learning process. His classes are fun, energetic, and will leave you with a smile.
